Twenty years in learning technology, built one customer at a time.
We started as a consulting practice. Two decades later, we’re the team behind learning platforms that serve two million learners across the industries where training actually matters.
Lambda has spent 20 years in one field: learning technology for organizations whose training is central to how they operate — associations, healthcare, regulated enterprises, and commercial training providers. We didn’t get here by pivoting or by chasing markets. We got here by doing the work, one customer at a time, and building the tools we wished existed while we did it.
How Lambda came to be.
Lambda began as a services business — a consulting practice helping organizations stand up and run open learning platforms. We weren’t trying to build a product. We were trying to solve the problem in front of us, for the customer in front of us.
What turned Lambda into a product company was repetition. Customers kept asking for the same things: a real way to sell their courses, a real way to see what their training was actually doing, hosting and support that treated their platform as mission-critical rather than a side project. The tools available couldn’t do those things well — so we built them.
That’s how Lambda Store™ and Zoola Analytics™ came to exist, and it’s why our hosting, implementation, and support look the way they do. Every part of what we sell today started as something a customer needed and couldn’t get anywhere else.
We grew because customers kept coming back and kept asking for more — not because we raised a round and went looking for a market. Twenty years later, that’s still how we grow.
What we do — and why we’re still doing it.
Lambda delivers Moodle™ and Totara™ — the two leading open learning platforms — with hosting, implementation, integrations, and 24/7 support. Alongside them, we build and maintain Lambda Store™, the branded eCommerce layer for selling learning, and Zoola Analytics™, the reporting platform for making sense of learning, revenue, and compliance data.
We chose open-source platforms because we believe the alternative — locking customers into a proprietary system they can’t leave — is a bad way to build a durable business. Twenty years in, most of our customers are still with us. That’s the only proof we care about.
Small, senior, and still here.
The people running Lambda are the people in the customer conversations.

He’s grown with the company for over a decade — from application support specialist to director — and brings a deep technical foundation, including an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner credential and a Business Information Technology diploma from BCIT.
Behind the leadership team is a small, senior group of engineers, implementers, designers, and support specialists — many with a decade or more at Lambda. Every one of them talks to customers.
What we believe about learning technology.
Open beats proprietary.
Customers should own their data, their content, and their exit path — not be held in place by a system they can’t leave.
Software is a service, not a product.
How well the platform runs is as important as what the platform does. Hosting and support aren’t an afterthought; they’re the job.
Small teams beat big ones in specialized markets.
Depth of expertise, not scale, is what makes complex implementations actually succeed.
Long customer relationships are the only real proof.
Twenty years of renewals matter more than any marketing claim we could make.
