Role-based competency

Training that follows the role, not the roster you exported last month

Role, unit, credential and employment status come from your HR system, and competency is reassigned when any of them change. No spreadsheet, no manual enrolment, no quarterly catch-up.

01 · What happens now

A nurse changes unit on Monday. The LMS finds out in March

Clinical staffing moves constantly. Assignment that depends on a manual export is accurate on the day it is run and wrong by the end of the week.

Movement

Cross-coverage, unit transfers, promotions and leaves all change what a clinician is required to hold. The roster driving training rarely changes with them.

Volume

Agency, float pool and casual staff arrive faster than an educator can enrol them by hand, and their requirements differ by unit and by jurisdiction.

Expiry

A competency lapsing next month is invisible in a system that records only completion. The gap surfaces during the survey instead of before it.

02 · The cost

Nobody is undertrained on purpose. The assignment list is stale

Every hour a clinical educator spends reconciling an HR export against an enrolment list is an hour not spent on education. The reconciliation is disposable: it is out of date before it is finished, so it is repeated next cycle, and repeated again when a surveyor asks for evidence.

The cost lands twice. Once in the hours, and once in the moment a unit manager cannot say with confidence who on tonight's roster is current.

03 · What Lambda Learning does

Competency assigned from the same data that runs payroll

Your HR system already knows who works where, in what role and under what credential. Lambda Learning treats that as the source of truth for assignment rather than asking your team to restate it.

Assignment by role, not by list

Requirements are defined once per role, unit, credential and jurisdiction. A transfer or a status change reassigns the individual, with no educator in the loop.

Status you can read today

Assigned, in progress, complete and expiring are visible by unit and by manager, so a gap is a task this week rather than a finding next quarter.

Expiry handled as a cycle

Recertification windows, renewal periods and advance notice are part of the requirement itself, so a lapsing competency escalates before the date rather than after it.

Evidence as a by-product

Assignment and completion sit on one record, so the competency report for a unit is a query rather than a package assembled from exports.

04 · Proof

Numbers from a health system, not adjectives

Brightshores Health System runs 2,300 staff on Lambda Learning. Lambda Learning Inc. has built learning platforms since 2002.

Bring your role matrix. We will map it line by line

Bring the roles, the units and the requirements you are accountable for, and your HR system as it actually runs. We will show assignment against your own structure and say plainly what the integration involves.
